Words and music by Graham Langdon.
Graham didn't write many songs in those days, but every song he wrote was simply beautiful. Towards the ends of the nineties we saw each other again for the first time in maybe fifteen years - at his home in Toowoomba. We each picked up a guitar and launched into this song. Although neither of us would have played it since my "farewell concert" in 1981 it came back instantly - the guitar parts and the harmonies. Perfect. It was as if it had just been sitting there inside of each of us waiting for us to be together again to bring it into the open. It's a beautiful song and a precious friendship.
lyrics
I gave it away.
I gave my life away.
I gave it back to the Lord of love.
I gave it away.
I gave my life away.
I gave it back to the Lord of love,
the Lord of my life.
And I'm not afraid to say that I've been searching.
And I'm not afraid to admit that I've got faults.
And I'm not afraid to say that I believe in Jesus.
He opened up my life
for all to share.
